We are witnesses to these things, and the Holy Spirit. The Acts of the Apostles

In those days, the apostles and led them before the council, the high priest questioned them, saying, "There we were expressly forbidden to teach in this name? And here, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and want to make us responsible for the blood of this man. "
answered Peter and the Apostles: "We must obey God rather than men. The God of our fathers raised Jesus whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Saviour, to give Israel to conversion and forgiveness of sins. And we are witnesses of these facts and the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him. "
they heard this they were enraged and wanted to put them to death.

GOSPEL (Jn 3.31-36)
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over.

+ Gospel according to John

who comes from above is above all, but who comes from the earth, belongs to the earth and speaks the second floor. Who comes from heaven is above all. He testifies to what he saw and heard, but no one accepts his testimony. Who accepts the testimony confirms that God is true. He considered that God has sent speaks the words of God: he gives the Spirit without measure.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, and whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him.

"Who comes from above is above all." These words explain why no one should be jealous of the superiority of Jesus: he is from above, from God, the Baptist and all the others are from the earth. The incarnate Son testifies of heavenly things that continually sees, because he is in constant love relationship with the Father (cf. Jn 1:18).
"He testifies to what he saw and heard, but no one accepts his testimony" (v. 33). The evangelist repeats what Jesus had said in 3.11, "You do not accept our testimony." But the horizon has expanded unbelief, because it says that no one accepts the testimony of Jesus This generalization is exaggerated, but it means that everyone should believe in Jesus and yet not believe almost anyone.
Verse 33 resumes in a positive sense of the previous negative statements on the non-acceptance of the revelation of Jesus 'disciples' faith offers proof that God is true. "To accept the testimony that comes from the detector is to, through him, the assent to God himself, is to acknowledge the veracity of God in the word itself Envoy: For God speaks in him, he will automatically involves God" (Mollat ).
Verse 34 explains the previous statements about the authenticity of the revelation of Jesus He is the only real definitive revelation sent by the Father. Whoever receives his testimony is irrefutable proof that God is true, that turns out to be really and truly in his Son. The Father sent the word of God reveals and communicates the salvation because only he can communicate the Spirit without measure.
Verse 35 explains why Jesus can give the Spirit: "The Father loves the Son and has given everything over." This love of the Father to the Son and the Holy Spirit.
St. Augustine comments, "The Father loves the Son, but as the Father loves the Son, not as the slave master, loves him as the only Son, not as adopted son. For this has given him everything in hand. What does it mean everything? It means that the Son is as powerful as the Father ... having thus deigned to send the Son, we do not think there was a mandate inferior to the Father, sending His Son, the Father has given us another self "(PL 35, 1509 ).
In v. 36 develops the theme of faith and unbelief, and it seems the situation of those who believe and those who do not believe. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life. who does not believe in the Son does not participate in eternal life . In the First Letter of John we read: "God has given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. Whoever has the Son has life: he has not the Son of God hath not life. I have written this because know that you have eternal life, you who believe in the name of the Son of God "(5.11 to 13).
