S. Deogratias - Christmas II (A) - II
FIRST READING (1 John 3.11-21 )
We have passed from death to life because we love the brethren.
from the first letter of St. John the Apostle
children, this is the message you heard from the beginning that we should love one another. Not as Cain who was of the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Why his works were evil, while his brother was right.
not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life because we love the brethren. Who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life more in him.
In this we know love, that He gave His life for us and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But if one has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart, as he remains in the love of God? Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in truth.
In this we know the truth before him and reassure our heart condemn us all. God is greater than our hearts and knows everything. Beloved, if our heart condemn us, we trust in God

GOSPEL (Jn 1.43 to 51 )
You are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel.
+ From the Gospel according to John
At that time, Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, he found Philip and said, "Follow me." Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
Philip found Nathanael and said, "We have found him of whom Moses wrote in the Law and the Prophets: Jesus, the son of Joseph of Nazareth." Nathanael said, "From Nazareth can anything good come? ". Philip said: "Come and see."
Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, told him: "Behold an Israelite indeed in whom is no guile." Nathanael asked, "How do you know me?". Jesus said, "Before Philip called you, I saw you when you were under the fig tree." Nathanael: "Rabbi, you are the Son of God, you are the king of Israel." Jesus replied: "Because I said that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these. "
Then he said: "Verily, verily, I say to you: you will see heaven open and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man. "

HOMILY
" Come and see."
beginning of the Holy Scriptures, the Book of Genesis , read: "God said, Let there be light and there was light. God saw that the light was good ..." ( January 1.3). Without light, in fact, you can not see, and there can be no communication.
... to your light we see light "(Ps 035.10 ).
Jesus the light of the world. The light allows us to see, and Jesus allows us to see with eyes of faith.
Nathaniel goes toward the light, believe in Him who knows the depths of the soul, understand, then, that he is the Son of God In the light of truth, there is a mutual recognition. But Nathanael will see still greater things: see the glory of Christ revealed in the miracle at Cana. In Jesus
concrete reality foreshadowed the scale that Jacob saw in a dream, on which angels ascended and descended: the promise of harmony between heaven and earth was created in the Son of Man who has opened the way to heaven because we saw, as Jacob ( January 32.30), the face of God, and this time really, not in a dream. The link is restored in the person of Jesus
