FIRST READING (Isaiah 43:16-21)

Thus saith the Lord,
who opened a way through the sea and a path
in the mighty waters, which brought out
chariots and horses,
army and heroes at once;
they lie dead, never again got up, went out like a wick
are extinct:
"I do not remember the former things ,
do not think the things of old!
Behold, I make something new
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a desert road,
rivers in the steppe.
wild animals honor me,
jackals and ostriches,
because I give waters in the wilderness, rivers in the steppe
,
to quench my people, my chosen.
The people whom I formed
me to proclaim my praise. "

When the Lord restored the fate of Zion,

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, our tongues with joy

Then they said among the nations
"The Lord has done great things for them."
the Lord has done great things for us: we were glad

Reestablish, Lord, our fate, as
streams in the desert.
Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy

He that is weeping, carrying seed for sowing

but will come home with joy, bringing his sheaves

SECOND READING (Phil 3.8 to 14)
Because of Christ, I believe that everything is a loss, making me according to his death.
from the letter of Paul to the Philippians
Brothers, I believe that everything is a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For him, I gave up all these things and count them rubbish, to gain Christ and be found in him, not having my righteousness as that resulting from the law, but one that comes from faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God based on faith, because I may know Him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, making me according to his death, hoping to attain the resurrection from the dead.
not that I have reached the goal, are not perfect; but I am racing to win, since I have been conquered by Jesus Christ, brethren, I do not think it is even won. All I know is this: forgetting what lies behind me and straining forward to what is in front of me, I press on toward the goal, the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus the Word of God

GOSPEL (Jn 8:1-11)

At that time, Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. But in the morning he went again into the temple and all the people came to him. And he sat down and began to teach them.
The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman caught in adultery, placed it in half and said, "Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery. Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. What do you think? ". They said this to test him and have reason to accuse him.
But Jesus bent down and began to write with one finger on the ground. However, as they continued to ask, stood up and said to them: "Which of you is without sin cast the first stone at her. And he bent down and wrote on the ground. Those who heard it, they went away one by one, beginning with the eldest.
They left him alone, and the woman was standing before him. Then Jesus stood up and said, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? ". And she said, "No, sir." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you to be 'from now on sin no more."
